The Sussex Spaniel isn't the most energetic spaniel. This breed is very calm, happy (even though it hardly smiles) and kind. Great with kids and other pets. The Sussex Spaniel likes to bark and for this reason isn't chosen by hunters quite often. They are not content when left alone for a while.
