Poodles are smart, full of life, and loyal. Poodles are great family pets and if trained well are excellent with kids and other dogs. They have a tendency to be shy with new people. The standard poodle is a very happy dog. They love being with the family and do not react well to being left alone. The Standard Poodle can be a watch dog or a hunting dog. Like other poodles they bark a lot.
